Post-AI Experimental Films, 2018–2026

Each film loops silently. Press M to restart the current film from the beginning with sound; press M again to mute it.

99 Ways to Use a Dataset (Ladiescrop), 2019. A handmade dataset of cropped flower images, reused across models. Left to right: a StyleGAN2 interpolation, the same interpolation with style transfer, and Ladiescrop swirled with network bending. All silent.

Floral Zombification via Attention Node Networks, 2024 Artifice.NYC edit. 4 minutes 23 seconds. Like the cordyceps fungus and its ant hosts, generative machine learning models take control of films of the past. The original 90-second cut premiered in the Winnipeg Underground Film Festival’s 90 Second program in 2023. Music: “Death in Virtual” by Kid Smpl.

“A corrective take needs an observed mismatch, and an unjustified duplicate fails.” 2026. 53 seconds, silent. Made with a Hermes agent (Err Me Z) after Guy Debord: 424 generated images, each shown once at 8 frames per second, ordered by color and edge similarity.

U Should B Free, 2024. 8 minutes. An inverted Looking 4 U: a dance that modern computer vision does not detect. Music: “We Should Be Free” by Marquis Hawkes.

•, 2024. 9 minutes. Cameraless film from hand-made 16mm elements, edited and sequenced with machine learning models. Sound design by Kamuter.

N⊙▼A, 2026. 6 minutes. An audioreactive film cut from 16mm elements, where the soundtrack does the editing. Song: “Nova” by Bicep.

Middle C, 2026. 12 minutes. Karaoke clips of singers on C4, according to the CREPE pitch estimation model, longest first.

Space Cinema, 2026. Slow abstract animation of evolving screens in pitch black space. It runs live in the browser and never ends. This is a one-minute capture.

Everyday Fragments, 2026. Expanded cinema for the web: a playlist of my films broken across bent panels in 3D space, seen through a projector beam. It runs live in the browser. This is a one-minute capture.
